Piedmont flies to London to attract investments and present its tourism offer. The mission aims to promote the territory on the occasion of wtmone of the two most important trade fairs in the sector together in Berlin. The Piedmontese delegation is made up of the Piedmont Region, the City of Turin, the Turin Chamber of Commerce, Unioncamere Piemonte, Ceipiemonte, VisitPiemonte, the Piedmont ATLs including Turismo Torino and the Consortium of the Savoy Royal Palaces. «In recent years Piedmont has seen its level of internationalization grow: we are the first region in Italy for increased investments and jobs in multinationals and in particular the United Kingdom tops the country rankings with companies currently interested in investing in our territory and therefore we are here to meet potential investors and tour operators and consolidate open dossiers” commented President Alberto Cirio.

International investments
In the period from 2019 to 2024 the average number of foreign investments per year in Piedmont is doubled compared to the period 2014 -2018. And this is a growing attention: among the over 400 followed by Ceipiemonte, the United Kingdom it is the most represented country. In fact, Ceipiemonte is currently following 50 dossiers in the pipeline, of which around ten are in a more advanced stage, of potential investors from the United Kingdom who are evaluating Piedmont as a destination for their investment, in particular in the Aerospace, Automotive, Cleantech & Greenbuilding, ICT, Mechatronics, Real Estate and Health and Wellbeing. «For Turin this is an opportunity for exchange and meeting, not only from a tourist point of view but also with the world of business and training» commented the mayor Stefano Lo Russo.

British tourists
In the last 10 years it stands out an increase of approximately 30% in tourists from the United Kingdomwith beyond 160 thousand arrivals and more than 600 thousand overnight stays. February is the month with the highest number of overnight stays by English tourists in Piedmont with a share of almost 19% of the annual total. In particular they prefer the mountainwith over 102 thousand overnight stays confirming the appeal of the ski product and the winter holiday for this market. The summer period (June, July, August and September) totals more 205 thousand attendances (34% of the annual total). The favorite destination for the summer is the lakes area, with over 109 thousand attendances (over 50% of the regional total). The figures for the first quarter of 2024 also confirm a positive trend in terms of British tourist flows, especially towards mountain areas, which see a 10% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
