“Pieces worth several thousand go down to a few euros”: old fashion fever takes hold in Dijon

Retro is in the spotlight in Côte-d’Or. From September 28 to 29, the vintage fashion market will live in Dijon. Clothes, products, furniture, video games … There is something for every taste, every time and budget (or almost).

A time machine was installed at the Dijon exhibition center this weekend. On September 28 and 29, the vintage fashion market began living in Côte-d’Or.

Nostalgic, fans of trends or just curious, the event was expected to attract several thousand people. Various activities and workshops were organized for the event. Of the dthread, DJ sets, or even a retro play area, but also clothing and furniture from all periods… In total, around sixty exhibitors came from all over France.

The watchword for the organizers is the unifying aspect around vintage. “It’s intergenerational, we really want to hit all the targets”explains Maud Lacour, one of the organizers, at the microphone of Emmanuel Pinsonneaux and Rodolphe Augier, our journalists on site.

Mother and daughter came together, bound by old-fashioned love. “I came to find things from when I was young and my daughter also likes this style because it is coming back into fashion”explains the older of the two. “There are things here that I like,” his daughter confirms. “I’m looking more for elements from the 2000s. “

If they leave empty-handed, some pieces are not convinced because of the limited quantities available or the sometimes high prices. “We are buying everywhere, but since this is the trend I think they are taking advantage of it to raise the prices a bit.”regret the mother.

Although this is the first time that the event has been organized in the City of Dukes, this exhibition has existed for more than 20 years in Lyon. “Invented by the university of fashion”remembers Jérôme Maza, the organizer. Vintage fashion has been in fashion for many years and pieces from the 1920s to the 2000s look fresh, especially in these types of shows. But who says move, also says increase in prices.

However, Jérôme Maza tends to be confident: “I think it is (old time) still reasonably priced. I want to say that there is something for every budget. At this exhibition, we have a good example, we have about sixty exhibitors who represent very well what we can think of in vintage, that is to say accessories, small objects, clothes, also re – distribution of creators. We have really high quality and cheaper clothes.”
