‘Pictures with hope’, an exhibition to raise awareness about triple negative breast cancer at the Clinical Hospital

MADRID, 23 (SERVIMEDIA)

The San Carlos Clinical Hospital in Madrid opens this Tuesday the exhibition ‘Pictures with hope’ to raise awareness about metastatic triple negative breast cancer, the most aggressive.

The opening ceremony will be presented by the journalist and presenter Inés Ballester and will include the participation of the Minister of Health of the Community of Madrid, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, the managing director of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos, José Soto, and the vice president and director General of Gilead, María Río, among other personalities. In addition, Dr. Fernando Moreno, specialist in Oncology at the Clinical Hospital, and Pilar Fernández, president of the Metastatic Breast Cancer Association, will participate in the subsequent colloquium.

‘Pictures with Hope’ -made in collaboration with Gilead- is an artistic experience in which, through artificial intelligence, “it is possible to capture and transform the emotions of patients with metastatic triple negative breast cancer into digital illustrations”, according to a statement from the event organizers.

Metastatic triple negative breast cancer is the most aggressive type of breast cancer and until recently had limited therapeutic alternatives. Only 12% of women who suffer from it survive five years. This type of tumor also seriously affects the quality of life compared to other types of breast cancer.

Through this exhibition, which will tour various Spanish cities, the aim is to raise awareness and give visibility to a disease in which the time factor is key to treatment.
