43,000 people marched against the pension reform in 17 assembly points in Centre-Val de Loire on February 7. The mobilization remains important, on this day of national strike. Some glimpses of Tours, Bourges and Chartres.

Third day of national mobilization against the pension reform project wanted by the government. In Centre-Val de Loire, the French once again took to the streets this Tuesday, February 7, with 43,000 demonstrators, according to state services, in 17 assembly points throughout the day in Centre-Val Loire, particularly in Orléans, Tours, Blois and Bourges.

In Tours, between 8,000 and 9,000 demonstrators, depending on the prefecture, started their journey at Place de la Liberté, before going up Avenue de Grammont and Rue Nationale towards the Loire.

On the Loiret side, the prefecture has a total of 11,000 demonstrators:

  • 7,500 in Orléans, 1,000 less than on January 31,
  • 1,700 in Montargis,
  • 1,000 in Gien,
  • 600 in Pithiviers,
  • 250 in Beaugency.

The CGT ensures that 20,000 people marched in Orleans.

In the Cher, the mobilization seems to be decreasing: according to territorial information, 6,000 people would have marched this morning in the department, between Bourges, Vierzon, Saint-Amand, La Guerche-sur-L’Aubois and Saint Florent-sur-Cher .

On the Indre side, the movement gathered 6,500 demonstrators in Châteauroux and 850 in Issoudun according to figures from the prefecture. In Loir-et-Cher, there were, according to state services, 5,000 demonstrators in Blois, 1,600 in Vendôme and a thousand in Romorantin. In Eure-et-Loir, the prefecture counts 2,600 people at the demonstration in Chartres and 215 in Dreux.

Another protest movement is already planned for Saturday February 11, and promises to be, once again, very followed in Center-Val de Loire.
