75% of teachers on strike in the first degree in Eure-et-Loir and around fifty schools closed in the department this Thursday, January 13, 2022, according to the SNUipp-FSU 28 union, which was demonstrating, with other unions this afternoon at Chartres (Eure-et-Loir).
The demonstration in the capital of Eure-et-Loir brought together around 550 people : teachers, local staff and parents of students who came with their child. They denounce a health protocol that is too vague at school and a ” Fed up “ in the management of the Covid-19 health crisis in National Education.
“Our working conditions and the conditions in which the students are educated have deteriorated,” says Clémentine Ingold, co-secretary of SNUipp-FSU 28. The union is calling for more human resources and more equipment.
How to ventilate schools when the “windows don’t open”?
“We need a more ambitious policy, for example, ventilation in the premises: in some schools, you can’t open the windows properly”, indignantly one of the union representatives. She also denounces the government communications around the new measures taken:
This is our third year under Covid, from the start the measures were announced in the press. In the public service, we operate within a regulatory framework, with decrees!
The “fed up” shared by parents
A Chartres, the parents of students have widely shown their support for the teaching staff, like Claude, father of two children, educated in primary and high school. “We are overwhelmed, in one week, if we follow the protocols, we would have to queue three times at the pharmacy to get tests, which are all too often complicated to find”, protests the man. .
And to add: “at the professional level, we can’t stop as we want to pick up our children, go for tests and keep them”!
