Millions of travelers frequent the station Strasbourg, but how many of them paid attention to the sign, track 1, indicating the entrance to the SNCF frequent flyer show ?
–Cozy atmosphere

“The legend says that the Emperor finally never set foot there”, slips Christelle Delplanque, director of communication SNCF Gares et Connexions.
–… now reserved for the most loyal users
Today they have a completely different function: that of welcoming Frequent travelers, in other words the most loyal users who have a loyalty card or a special train ticket.
–This space gives in particular access to a selection of newspapers or magazines offered, a free hot drink or the possibility to watch France 24 on a television.
–Period furniture
Despite their change in use, the lounges – a succession of four rooms, excluding bathrooms – have largely retained their original furniture and decor.
–This is the case with chandeliers and certain armchairs, as with most inlaid floors. “The wallpapers have been redone identically,” says Delplanque. Finally, “the ebony wall clock in the old vestibule is still surmounted by the winged wheel of the Empire railways”, specifies the brochure.

Also note: “The white marble staircase which led to the great hall is lit by stained glass windows with the Strasbourg arms by the Ott brothers”, notes the book ” Strasbourg secret“, Which devotes part to trade fairs.
–This staircase is no longer used.
