A serious traffic accident occurred on Tuesday evening, January 5, at the roundabout between Sendražice and Ovčáry near Kolín. “The Mercedes vehicle overturned on the roof there,” said police spokeswoman Monika Schindlová. Only the seventeen-year-old driver remained stuck in the car, after rescue the rescuers could no longer help him, he succumbed to injuries on the spot. The 15-year-old co-driver suffered a moderate injury.

The tragedy in the form of the driver’s death was confirmed by Petra Effenbergerová, a spokeswoman for the Central Bohemian rescue service. “The other participant in the traffic accident suffered moderate injuries,” she added, adding that he was taken to the Motol hospital by ambulance.
The reasons for the accident are currently the subject of a police investigation.
