Picsou Magazine, a special issue for its 75th anniversary

A perfect setting for solid gold stories. Picsou Magazine is releasing a special collect’or to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the richest duck on newsstands on November 4, 2022.

The start of Scrooge’s year was marked by several highlights.

  • The 50th anniversary issue of Picsou Magazine is a success: more than 120,000 copies distributed and extensive media coverage.
  • The stand of the Angoulême International Comics Festival welcomed numerous visitors, in the Picsou office reconstituted for the occasion.
  • The screenwriting competition in April had an exceptional turnout: around 100 readers submitted their ideas for the screenplay. The two winning stories will be illustrated by Ulrich Schröder, one of the most famous Disney cartoonists in the world, and published next year in Picsou Magazine.
  • Picsou Magazine received the SEPM & Relay award for the youth magazine of the year.
  • A special offer on newsstands: the favorite penny offered this summer with Picsou Magazine! Almost 82,000 copies were sold.

In this golden issue for fans, they’ll find 345 pages of comic books to break through the shell of Scrooge. The stories told there are constitutive of the character: his relationship with his fortune and his past. Two great unpublished adventures in France are published:

  • The fate of Scrooge, a copious 190-page story drawn by the genius and all too rare Fabio Celoni, is the direct sequel to Romano Scarpa’s classic, Le lenticchie di Babilonia. We find a ruined Scrooge who has only one month to recover his fortune …
  • Uncle Scrooge, king of the Klondike, by Marco Gervasio and Stefano Zanchi, sends Scrooge back to the lands of the gold diggers, those of his youth and his encounter with his lifelong love, Goldie. A reunion that fans are looking forward to every time!

An anniversary issue would not be complete without the great masters of the Scrooge universe, Carl Barks and Don Rosa. The publishers chose four of their nuggets to enrich the two great stories and to show that their legacy continues to inspire authors today. Who hasn’t dreamed of getting into Uncle Scrooge’s trunk? This will be possible from November 4th on the site lesecretducoffre.com. The goal of this 100-gift contest is to find the clues that will open the chest. A winning moment will let you know what you have won. Up for grabs: a Nintendo console, video games, comics, manga and collectible books.
