Piacenza – Tragic accident in highway today afternoon, Thursday 3 June, shortly after 5.30 pm. The balance is dramatic: five dead. The victims are five workers of a construction company in Corte Franca, in the province of Brescia, and they were returning home. These are five men, all residing between Brescia and Bergamo: three Italians aged 55, 60 and 67 and two Moroccans aged 40 and 51. The crash occurred in Piacentino along the stretch of the link road between the A1 and A21 motorways in the municipality of Fiorenzuola d’Arda, towards Fiorenzuola / Brescia.

According to initial information, at the height of Monticelli, the Fiat Doblò on which the five workers were located would have hit a truck at high speed, stopped in line for another accident. 118 vehicles (with self-medical and helicopter rescue) and firefighters intervened on the spot. For the five people who were aboard the furogone there was nothing to do: they are all death on the spot. The Cremona traffic police are carrying out investigations on the dynamics and the causes.




The consequences on road traffic are inevitable: the section of the motorway in question it was completely closed to traffic, to allow the intervention of the 118 vehicles and the firefighters who intervened for the rescue, causing repercussions and slowdowns on the traffic in the area.
