The ring leader is Pham Hung Cuong, 41 years old, residing in Phu Lac commune.
Previously, on the evening of January 2, on the Noi Bai – Lao Cai highway, passing through the area, Cam Khe district police caught Nguyen Van Kien, 34 years old, residing in Yen Lap district, driving a car transporting 60 rigs. Exploding fireworks and 10 rolls of firecrackers, total weight 118.6 kg.
Urgent search of Nguyen Van Kien’s residence resulted in the seizure of 1 exploding fireworks display and 1 roll of firecrackers with a total weight of 2.1 kg.
At the same time, the police also urgently searched the residences of related subjects.
At the residence of Pham Tien Minh, 43 years old, in Phu Lac commune, police confiscated 104 explosive fireworks sets and 1,118 egg firecrackers, with a total weight of 196.6kg.
At the home of Hoang Van Nam, 29 years old, living in Yen Lap town, police confiscated 9 rigs fireworks explodeweight 14.6kg.
At the same time, 24 exploding fireworks rigs, weighing 41 kg, were confiscated at the house of Nguyen Van Tuan, 41 years old, living in Huong Lung commune. The total volume of exploded fireworks and firecrackers seized was 372.9kg. Also on January 2, Pham Hung Cuong went to the Cam Khe district police station to surrender.
Continuing to expand the investigation, Cam Khe district police summoned Vang Seo Quan, 31 years old, residing in Lao Cai province. Quan sold explosive fireworks and firecrackers to Pham Hung Cuong.
At the investigation agency, Cuong admitted that while working in Lao Cai, he knew Quan. After that, Cuong contacted Quan to buy fireworks to bring back to Phu Tho to sell for profit.
Cuong transferred money to Quan through his account, then assigned Nguyen Van Kien to directly drive Cuong’s car to Lao Cai to receive the fireworks. After receiving the fireworks, they were mainly hidden at Pham Tien Minh’s house.
The Police Department and Cam Khe District Police temporarily detained the above group of people and consolidated their files for strict handling in accordance with the law.
