(San Francisco = Yonhap News) Correspondent Kim Tae-jong = Adobe, an American design software company famous for ‘Photoshop’, has launched a video creation artificial intelligence (AI) model, foreshadowing competition with ChatGPT developer OpenAI and Facebook’s parent company Meta.

Adobe held its annual product conference ‘Adobe Max 2024’ in Miami, Florida on the 14th (local time) and announced that it would release a test version of its video creation AI ‘Firefly Video’.

‘Firefly Video’ is an AI model that creates videos using text or images. In addition to video editing, it is integrated into Adobe’s ‘Premiere Pro‘, a video editing program, so you can add videos using the generative extend function.

For example, if video footage is missing or the back part is missing, AI connects the front and back to create a video.

Adobe emphasized that “Generative Extension is the first generative AI feature created for video professionals.”

Adobe also explained that, like its other AI models, this AI is safe for commercial use because it uses licensed content and does not produce videos featuring children or public figures.

‘Firefly Video’ is expected to face fierce competition with Open AI’s ‘Sora‘, Google’s ‘Vio’, and Facebook parent company Meta Platform’s ‘Movie Zen’.

‘Sora’ and ‘Bio’ were released in February and May, respectively, and ‘Movie Zen’ is scheduled for release after being released early this month.

Unlike ‘Sora’, ‘Vio’, and ‘Movie Zen’ that are being tested for specific users, Adobe is the first large tech company to introduce this video creation AI as a public trial version and make it available to many users. .

Eli Greenfield, Adobe’s chief technology officer for digital media, said of rival video creation AI, “We’re hearing from customers that all of their technology is really cool, but they can’t use it.”

Adobe explained that since releasing the image creation AI ‘Firefly’ in March last year, 13 billion images have been created to date.
