After 17 months of workthis private hotel in the center of the city of Dijon will be your home the headquarters of the OIVInternational Wine and Wine Group. The official inauguration took place last Saturdaywith ministers from the 50 countries that are members of the organization and also elected officials from the City of Dijon.

The “brilliant, colorful, amazing” roofs.

Visitors were able rave about the ceilings, the frame, the woodwork or even the parquet floorscompletely updated! “Worth queuing outside! The building is stunning, and so are the ceilings! They are beautiful, colorful, all the rooms are different”reassuring Monique, Lyonnaise passing through Dijon. “It is certain that architects worked on this restoration, I could not do the same at home, but we want to combine the colors in this way, with such success! “

François had already arrived at the Hôtel Bouchu d’Esterno, and this is the first time he can finally see the roofs: “It was the first question we asked when we got home: but were the roofs there? Weren’t they hidden? And we were told: yes, they were there, but they were all black, and like so we didn’t see them! It’s amazing to go into this hotel, because the ceilings are amazing.” His wife Annick loves woodworking more: “This complete renovation, in every room, with real woodwork, it’s gorgeous! It allows us to see what an inn looked like in the 17th century, with the main courtyard at the front, the L-shaped building and the garden at the back. , it is typical of the style of that era!” The garden, also completely renovated: “I plan to go back and see it every year, on Heritage Days, because in a few years, it will be magnificent!”Monique hopes.

For Béatrice, it’s a real feeling to find this place: “It’s an opportunity to see it restored, because it was very broken. Every detail is thought of and revisited in a crafty and artistic way. For example, these parquet floors, this woodwork, the light wood that is everywhere! the treasures of Dijon, and it is important to see: the materials, the colors, everything inspires Burgundy.

Pride for the City and the Region

The Leblond company was responsible for the woodwork, which was a real source of pride for the manager, Loïc Leblond: “We did all the carpentry inside, so the woodwork, the renovation of the doors, and everything that adds to or restores what was no longer there, and then comes the a contemporary part, which was recreated to make this a space available to the OIV that made special changes, as a company from Gevrey, we are very connected to the heritage of Côte-d’Orien, and thanks to the mill- saw, we benefited from local wood from the forests of Côte-d’Or!”

For Christine Martin, deputy mayor of Dijon in charge of culture, it was important that the people of Dijon could come and see the result of these 17 months of work: “The people of Dijon and their visitors this weekend love their heritage and want to know: whether it is the tangible heritage with this magnificent building, the intangible heritage , but also the climate of Burgundy: we have great wealth here in Cote. -d’Or, and we want to share it! Large international organizations rarely move from headquarters: before the OIV was in Paris, and it is an opportunity for us to welcome it to Dijon, and it opens a new circle in the city – big of us!”

So, for those who missed the chance to visit Hotel Bouchu in Esterno this weekend, go at the next Heritage Days, in September 2025 !
