Photos of an early Intel B760 motherboard have surfaced without warning. The motherboard is from Gigabyte and will receive support for DDR4, among other things, according to the images. An official announcement of Intel’s B760 chipset is expected in January.
Photo of unannounced Gigabyte motherboard were published by MyDriversalso noticed Twitter user momomo_us On. The card in question is a B760 Aorus Elite AX DDR4. The motherboard therefore has an Intel B760 chipset, which is positioned lower than the Intel Z790 variant. The motherboard will have an LGA1700 socket and support for Alder Lake and Raptor Lake CPUs.
The photos show, among other things, that the B760 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 bears similarities to the Z790 Aorus Elite variant. The motherboard has three full-size PCIe slots, though it’s unknown how many lanes each has. Also on display are heat sinks for three M.2 SSDs. As the name suggests, the motherboard will also get support for DDR4 memory and Wi-Fi 6.
Intel’s B760 chipset hasn’t been officially announced yet. The chipset is expected to do away with CPU overclocking capabilities and offer fewer PCIe lanes on the chipset than the Z790. The chipset is expected to be announced at CES in January. Intel will also likely announce Raptor Lake laptop processors and non-K desktop CPUs.
