This is the second litter of cheetahs in one year! After the births of three cubs last January, the Peaugres Safari once again welcomes three cheetah cubs. Two males and one female born in mid-October. Visitors will no doubt have the pleasure of seeing them this weekend, but the weather must be good. “They are still small so we don’t take them out into the enclosure if it’s too cold or raining”warns Valentin Gillet, assistant head trainer. However, the little ones are already quite resourceful: “They’re already running like crazy and playing together. They’re pretty precocious!”

“Exceptional births”
This second litter is a real source of pride for the Peaugres Safari, which says it is one of the ten European parks with the most cheetah births. Because the species does not reproduce that easily: “We need special conditions, if the male does not like the female she will not go into heat. We have to find the right couples and for that we need structures!” The safari has ten enclosures for around fifteen cheetahs, which allows you to regularly vary the pairs and increase the chances of having cubs!
Activities around the cheetah are organized all this weekend at the safari, on the occasion of International Cheetah Day which will take place on December 4.
