Nostalgia attracted many artists and public figures to the Salle Pierre-Mercure on Tuesday evening, walking the red carpet to discover the musical The Us.
Just like the novel and the film, the show takes us back to 1974 when a couple (Florent and Élise) are cheated out of realizing their dream of buying a restaurant. A young boy named Monsieur Émile will come to their aid to take revenge on the man behind this cruel scheme, the infamous Egon Ratablavasky. The direction was entrusted to Joël Legendre, while Jessy Brouillard wrote the libretto, lyrics and music for this new adaptation of Yves Beauchemin’s work. The cast includes Audrey-Louise Beauséjour, Matthieu Lévesque, Eliot Dupras, Diego Flint Djebari, Marilou Morin, Renee Wilkin, Martin Larocque, Alain Dumas and Luis Oliva, to name a few. The musical The Us will be presented from October 29 to November 10 at the Salle Pierre-Mercure in Montreal, then from November 19 to December 30 at the Salle Louis-Fréchette in Quebec. A tour will follow in 2025.
