Photos from the Hollywood shoot of the movie about Tetris

Glasgow in Scotland has been converted into the Moscow of the 1980s for a film about the history of Tetris.

At the end of January the Glasgow live posted photos from the filming of the movie about the history of Tetris, created by Soviet programmer Alexeii Pazhitnov in 1984.

In November 2020 Apple acquired the rights to the film about the history of the fight for the rights to launch the video game, in which several companies were involved, including Nintendo and Atari.

The film is directed by John S. Baird, who directed Dirt with James McAvoy.

One of the main protagonists is Henk Rogers, a game designer from the Netherlands who was also involved in the fight for the rights of the game and who later founded The Tetris Company. He will be played by Theron Edgerton, known for Rocketman Y Kingsman. Theron can also be seen in footage from the movie set.

For the filming, the Scottish city of Glasgow was decorated with scenery with Soviet aesthetics.

In the photo you can see the crowd in Soviet uniforms and clothes from the 80s, and Soviet cars like the Moskvich and the Zhiguli. Also on the set are tanks, and almost every step there are Soviet flags and posters of the Communist Party.

It is unknown who will play the inventor of the game, Alexei Pazhitnov, although fans of Theron Edgerton found two Russian actors, Nikita Efremov and Sofia Lebedeva, in the photos of the set.

It is also not known yet who they will play in the film. They themselves have not officially confirmed their participation in the film, but both actors posted a photo from Glasgow on Instagram.

The official release date is still unknown.
