#PHOTOS Floating Oil Processing Station sank in Maracaibo # 21Ago

Shocking images were posted on social media to show the sinking of the Floating Flow Station located in the Middle Lake, in Maracaibo, last Thursday.

In the images released by the journalist Lenin Danieri it is observed how the station marked with the acronym EF GP 17 is submerging in the waters of Maracaibo lake, for the alleged neglect of Pdvsa in recent years.

Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) would have acquired this station from a company called Shipyards of Venezuela, which was dedicated to the repair and manufacture of floating boats.

This station processed Venezuelan crude and in 2006, according to PDVSA reports, it produced 2000 barrels of oil.

The journalist regretted the fact and showed the sad images through his Twitter account. “ONCE UPON A TIME there was a country that had an oil industry that was shipped from this part of the continent. This was the Middle Lake Floating Station, EF GP 17. It sank in our estuary. It’s sad if I’m honest, “he wrote.

In this regard, the first vice president of the National Assembly Juan Pablo Guanipa, who assured that said station no maintenance for 14 years. “This is one more evidence of how the oil infrastructure is useless,” said the parliamentarian.
