Next April 12, 2024, Amazon Prime Video will exclusively premiere the series of Falloutwhich this Tuesday, November 28, was presented in a special session to Vanity Fairwith images from the filming.
The plot is the outbreak of a nuclear war on Earth in the year 2077, which is (or was) an era of robots, hover cars, and a deep and abiding nostalgia for the United States of the 1940s. Everything from the clothing to entertainment and vehicles, mimics the look of that bygone era, albeit with a sci-fi twist.
LThe creators of Westorld, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, are in charge of this project which will follow the story of Lucy (Ella Purnell), who has lived much of her life in one of the nuclear shelters.
Nolan actually talks about how to incorporate satire into style The Last of Usanother video game adaptation.
“We get to talk about that in a wonderful, speculative fiction way,” says Nolan, who directed the first three episodes. “I think we’re all looking at the world and thinking, ‘God, things seem to be going in a very, very scary direction.'”
Vanity Fair comments that, “Fans of the games should know that everything in the series is officially part of the lore of Fallout, and Bethesda was careful to make sure the scripts could coexist with the game titles’ previous stories. “We see what’s happening in the show as canon,” says Todd Howard, director of 2008’s Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 2015 and executive producer of Bethesda Game Studios. “That’s the cool thing, when someone else looks at your work and then translates it in some way.”
