Photographing the “City Light” of Singapore and the Moon Using the Samsung S23 Ultra, the results are sharp and bright

KOMPAS.com – As the top smartphone model from Samsung, the Galaxy S23 Ultra has been equipped with the most capable photographic specifications.

For example, there is a 200 MP main camera accompanied by three other cameras, namely a 12 MP (f/2.2) ultrawide camera, a 10 MP telephoto camera (f/2.4, 3x optical zoom), a 10 MP telephoto camera (f/2.4, 10x optical) zooms).

In the previous photo gallery article, we have seen the ability of a 200 MP camera to photograph the city of Singapore during the day or in sufficient light conditions.

In general, the results of the 200 MP Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra camera are detailed and sharp. The series of photos of the Galaxy S23 Ultra during the day can be seen in the following photo gallery:

It’s incomplete if you don’t try the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra camera at night or in low light conditions.

KompasTekno journalist Galuh Putri Riyanto did not miss the opportunity to try out the capabilities of the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s camera to shoot in low light conditions, in early February, after participating in a series of Galaxy Unpacked events in Singapore.

KompasTekno had the opportunity to visit the Helix Bridge and take pictures of the beautiful views of Singapore’s city lights at night with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It turns out that the shots taken by the Galaxy S23 Ultra at night are no less good than the photos taken during the day.

For example, in the image below, the Marina Bay Sands building, the Art Science Museum, and the city lights of Singapore at night can be captured with sharpness and detail. The 200 MP Galaxy S23 Ultra camera is also capable of capturing and producing images with vibrant colors, aka lively, like the original colors.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has various shooting modes to suit the user’s needs. For example, there is a Nightography mode for better shooting in low light conditions. There are also full resolution modes of 50 MP and 200 MP.

Actually, in normal mode, the 200 MP Galaxy S23 Ultra camera produces bright, detailed and sharp images. However, with the 50 MP and 200 MP modes, we get sharper images with higher resolution.

This makes us more flexible when we want to crop (crop) images, because the image quality will remain sharp.

The use of a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x and 10x optical zoom also produces sharp photos. In fact, with 30x digital magnification, we can photograph the moon with the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera, as shown below.

From KompasTekno’s experience, using the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera to take pictures in low light conditions feels so easy. We only need to point the camera at the object, and press the shutter button.

This is because the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200 MP camera already uses Isocell HP2. The camera sensor is equipped with qualified automatic focusing with Super QPD technology. This technology is said to use 200 million pixels for faster and more accurate autofocusing.

In other words, once the camera application is opened, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will lock focus more quickly on objects that appear on the screen.

In low light conditions, the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s camera is capable of capturing sharp and detailed images, even when magnified 3x, 10x and 30x.

Apart from that, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is also now powered by the strongest chipset from Qualcomm, namely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy.

This special chipset is claimed to bring a 25 percent increase in GPU (graphics processing) performance and 5 percent for CPU performance, compared to the “ordinary” Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which this year is widely used in a line of flagship phones from various cellphone vendors.

The increase in CPU and GPU also contributes to faster image capture and image processing in low light conditions on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Usually, when taking pictures at night or in low light conditions, the user has to hold his hand for some time so that the photos taken remain in focus. If the hand that supports the phone shakes a little, the photos usually turn out to be blurry.

So, the image processing speed in low light conditions on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset for Galaxy plays a role in minimizing the potential for blur. According to KompasTekno’s experience, in general, photos of the city of Singapore at night with the Galaxy S23 Ultra are sharp, detailed and bright.
