Well-known photographer Josh Shinner has shared exclusive details about the photo session that Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton starred in with their children for their annual Christmas card. The image, which stood out for its simplicity in contrast to the ostentatiousness characteristic of royalty, has uniquely captured the royal family, generating all kinds of comments.

Shinner called the experience one of the most relaxed and fun sessions he has had as a photographer, adding to the anecdote that the royal couple’s children provided him with a new repertoire of jokes. On his social networks, the photographer even shared an initial sketch of the family group, arguing that drawing faces was not his strong suit, especially that of such distinguished subjects.

“I stopped trying to draw faces a long time ago, and I felt that trying to draw the Prince of Wales was something that could only end in dismal failure, but this was the starting point for the final composition,” Shinner explained on his social networks.

Although many followers asked him to share the jokes he learned from the royal children, Shinner chose to keep those moments to himself, creating a halo of mystery around his exchange with the princes.
The black and white portrait shows the family in matching black and white outfits with the children included: Prince George, ten, and Prince Louis, five, along with Princess Charlotte, eight. Although the similarity with previous years is evident, with equally informal and dynamic shots, this year a greater dose of sobriety has been noted.

The public also did not take long to analyze every detail of the image, which is why the controversy was generated. Network users noticed that Prince Louis was missing his middle finger in the photograph, in addition to other inconsistencies such as the lack of laces in the children’s tennis shoes and Kate’s “missing leg.”

In the face of criticism and ridicule, spokespersons for the British crown have spoken out, and in contrast to the very strict attitude they have taken on various issues, apparently this photo has not been a topic of debate at Buckingham Palace.
“It is not a photographic montage. appears as if [Luis] he would have just bent his finger. “She certainly hasn’t lost a finger so there’s no need to worry!” the source stated.
The family was photographed in Windsor earlier this year by Shinner, who has worked with famous faces including Florence Pugh, Jodie Comer and Sam Smith. Releasing the photo, Kensington Palace said the Prince and Princess of Wales were very pleased to share this new image of their family.

The royal family’s Christmas card tradition continues to be a mix of formality and spontaneity, with each delivery reflecting a little more about their vision and personality to the public. Proof of this is that, while Prince William’s family posed in a photograph notable for its minimalism, the kings of England presented a Christmas card themed to the coronation of Charles III. As expected, criticism came immediately, especially against Queen Consort Camilla, whom the British refuse to see as her monarch.
