Photographer and former model Brian Randall, longtime partner of Hollywood star Sandra Bullock, has died at the age of 57 after a long illness, People reported. According to the publication, for 3 years he fought with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) – a rare degenerative disease that affects the central nervous system. The same disease in 2018 took the world-famous British scientist – physicist and cosmologist, Stephen Hawking.
“It is with great sadness that we announce that Brian Randall passed away peacefully on August 5th after a 3-year battle with ALS… We are eternally grateful to the dedicated doctors and amazing nurses who fought this disease alongside us, often sacrificing their own families,” says the message to the relatives. The photographer had not publicly announced his diagnosis and condition.
Sandra and Randall met and began dating in 2015 when he photographed her son Louis’ birthday party. The couple is in no hurry to register a marriage, since the actress has one unsuccessful one behind her, and for her, according to her, it is important to be a devoted partner and mother, and not to have official documents of marital status. The two rarely appear together in public and have largely kept their relationship out of the limelight. One of their rivers appeared at the wedding of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, which ended 2 years later in divorce.
In a 2021 interview, the “Gravity” star said she found the love of her life in Randall. The two raise Bullock’s son and later adopted daughter Laila, now aged 13 and 11 respectively, as their own children, the photographer also has an older daughter, Skyler, from a previous marriage. “He is the example I would like my children to have.” I don’t always agree with him and he doesn’t always agree with me. But it’s an example, even when I don’t agree with it,” explains the actress.
Some time ago, Sandra Bullock announced that she wanted to take a break from the cinema: “I am exhausted and so tired that I am not able to make wise decisions,” she said in 2022.
