Harsh accusations from a mother who needed medical attention for her eight-year-old child. Diagnosed with chickenpox, in a more serious form, the mother was even sent to the Emergency Department by the family doctor, given the child’s condition. Except that once they arrived at the hospital, the two ran into nervous medical personnel and a porter who didn’t even let the little one sit on the bench, all because he was contagious.
“Unbelievable what is happening! It’s inhumane,” are the words of a mother who needed medical attention for her eight-year-old child.
The little boy, diagnosed with chicken pox, but also infected with a bacteria, arrived together with his mother at the Emergency Department, sent there by the family doctor who noted the serious condition in which the boy was.
It’s just that they were called to the Emergency Department and the medical check-up didn’t go any easier either, especially since the sick child was scared.
“His blood was collected, and then he kept putting pressure on the child. You can tell that the child was afraid”, the mother told PresaSM.
“If it doesn’t sit, you will have to sign that you refuse!”, the nurse allegedly told the mother, during the blood collection process.
It wasn’t just that, but the child was told not to touch anything, because it’s contagious.
The porter at the Hospital for Infectious Diseases was also scared by the fact that he was a cottager, says the little one’s mother.
Arriving at the medical unit on Corvinilor Street, the little one was not even allowed to sit on the bench, because he had chicken pox. Not sleeping, not eating and dizzy, the child couldn’t take it anymore and sat down on the floor in the hospital yard.
The little one’s mother wants to sound the alarm about the behavior of medical professionals when it comes to young children who are diagnosed with contagious diseases. The lack of empathy, but also the reaction of the nurses and the porter made an already complicated situation even more difficult for the child and the parents.
