The show is staged by a creative group from Hungary, involving Latvian scenographers and costume designers Krista and Reini Dzudzilo in the team. The show introduces unusual scenographic solutions, as well as special ways of using the Daile Theater stage.

The comic absurd drama written by Eugene Jonesco in 1959 tells the story of a sleepy French province where rumors of a rhinoceros attack are raging. As long as a close friend has not turned into a rhinoceros, no resident of a small town seems to know about the problem of rhinos, where any precautions are still taken to protect themselves from rhinoceros. However, at the moment when a local resident who has turned into a rhino crushes a beloved domestic cat, the inhabitants of the province are taken over by mass psychosis, which only the idleness of the town in Berange has decided to resist.

Director Ildiko Gāšpāra: “Basically, this is a story about how, forced by different circumstances, the main character is aware of himself, how he is aware of the society next to him and himself in it, it is about surrender. It makes us think about our ability to stand up for our individual views, as well as how and why we give in to the majority. I am glad to be able to work with this material at the Daile Theater, and with actors who are very open to my ideas, which are often less common, because we experimented a lot. Of course, humor is also present in the show, and I hope that the viewer will perceive its nuances as well. “

Roles in the performance are Toms Veličko, Lauris Dzelzītis, Anete Krasovska, Juris Bartkevičs, Ģirts Ķesteris, Vita Vārpiņa, Artūrs Skrastiņš, Indra Briķe, Ieva Segliņa, Juris Strenga, Dainis Gaidelis, Aldis Siliņš.
