In early August, 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate in agricultural fertilizer exploded in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and stored in a port warehouse for six years.
On Thursday, September 10, a month after this explosion, a fire broke out in the port area. People on social networks call for closing windows and not getting close to the scene.
The videos show open flames and black smoke filling Beirut’s skies.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but representatives of the Lebanese army explain that tires and oil are stored in the fire station. Fire fighting is currently underway.

This is the Beirut port right now. The nightmare continues. Open all your windows and stay away from them. pic.twitter.com/DpjSK1YHYB
