This year’s competition sculptures were created by 15 professional sculptors from 10 countries – the Czech Republic, Spain, Ukraine, Canada, Turkey, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Estonia, Mongolia and Latvia. In turn, the demo sculpture was created by Latvian sculptors Kārlis Īle and Maija Īle.
For two days, the park’s opening celebration program was filled with a variety of activities for the whole family – bubble workshops, foam parties and attractions. In the evening program, popular musicians in Latvia – DJ Mareks Ameriks, Ivo Fomins, Edavārds and the association “Riga Reggae” – took the stage.
From June 6, the sand sculpture park will be open to visitors throughout the summer. In June, it will be open from 10 am to 8 pm Ticket prices – 2 euros (pupils, students, pensioners, people with disabilities) and 3 euros. Tickets can be purchased at the Pasta Island box office.
