In the first part of the concert, which took place in the spring evening, the audience enjoyed the music created by the Viennese classic Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which is often called the concentrate of sun, light and joy of life.
Mozart’s overture to the opera Lucio Silla and Sinfonia Concertante was performed for 4 wind instruments, which the orchestra performed with soloists – oboist Mārtiņš Zālīte, clarinetist Kārlis Clats, bassoonist Artis Zēna and forest hunter Inga Novicāns. These musicians are not only concertmasters of the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra in their instrument groups, but are also known for their active concert activities in the wind instrument ensemble “Kurland Quintet”.
In the second part of the concert, music lovers had the opportunity to hear the rarely played pearl of the symphonic repertoire – the Symphony in Reminora, played by the prominent Belgian romantic composer of Belgian origin Cesar Frank.
LSO representative Iveta Vēvere informs that next time LSO will meet with its listeners on May 14, when it will end its 141st concert season with an ambitious concert in the concert hall “Lielais dzintars”. Maestro Gintars Rinkevičs will be at the orchestra’s conductor’s stand, and pianist Daumants Liepiņš will be the special guest of the concert.
