PHOTO: The early music festival “Vivat Curlandia!”

Medieval music ensemble “Alta Bellezza” from Switzerland, “Chiaroscuro” from Lithuania, soprano Elīna Šimkus, Ieva Pļaviņa, Anete Viļuma and Monta Martinsone, harpsichordists Gertruda Jerjomenko and Alina Rotaru (Lithuania / Germany), composer and sound artist Mantas from Mautas performed , Students of the Department of Early Music of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and many others.

Even before the opening speech of the festival, children and their parents could experience an exciting demonstration of Rococo costumes – the concert “Ancient Musical Instruments” performed by the ensemble “Ensemble Caladrius” from Germany, master of historical costumes Elīna Kuzņecova and researcher of ancient music, festival Vivat Curland! ” artistic director Māris Kupčs.

As every year, listeners could attend half of the festival’s concerts free of charge. On the other hand, strict adherence to the rules of distance was a proof that high-quality cultural events with a present audience are possible even in non-standard conditions, in addition to applause and long applause after each concert – such events are very welcome; and there were many interested listeners.
