The competition is running in the mood of the anniversary – young talents are gathering in it for the tenth time. The contestants perform songs by Latvian authors in the Latvian language – the soloists perform one song, while the vocal ensembles, which will start their performance from 3 p.m., will have to sing two songs, one of which will be performed a cappella.
Contestants traveled to Liepāja from various places in Latvia – Riga, Kuldīga, Saldus, Carnikava, etc., a total of 146 participants, of which 29 soloists and 14 ensembles.
The young talents are evaluated by a professional jury – Mārīte Puriņa, founder of the Association of Latvian Vocal Ensembles, long-time leader, vocal pedagogue and industry expert, composer Andris Kontauts, opera singer Laura Bulava, singer and songwriter Ivo Fomins, singer Grēta Grantiņa.
The jury evaluates the participants in the competition in a 10-point system, of which 10 is the highest and 1 is the lowest rating. Technical performance, artistic performance, overall stage image will be taken into account.
The contest is led by the singers Sanita and Sanija Rozes from Liepāja from “Duets Rozes”, and it will end around 5 p.m., after which the winners will be announced.
The best will receive “Pearl rain” glass awards made by the artist Solvita Bruže.
G. Grantiņa, the winner of the 4th season of the musical reality show “X factor” and the winner of this year’s “Zelta mikrofons” popular vote “Elvi song of the year”, will welcome the contestants and viewers with a small concert program.
