“Melodies” by the Ukrainian composer Miroslav Skorika was performed by the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra and conductor Normunds Šnē.
On site in Liepāja Concert Hall, as well as Latvian Radio 3 “Klasika” and new platforms digitalaisdzintars.lv In live broadcasts, the audience listened to both the deep and thoughtful interpretations of the piano solo by Georg Pelēčs, performed by pianist Reinis Zariņš, and Pēteris Vasks’ Landscape with Birds, performed solo by our outstanding flutist Dita Krenberga.
Together with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Normunds Šnē, Reinis Zariņš also performed Johann Sebastian Bach’s Piano Concerto in reminor BWV1052, and Dita Krenberg’s virtuoso Frank Martin Ballad for flute and string orchestra.
In the performance of organist Iveta Apkalna, the audience had the opportunity to hear Pauls Hindemita’s Chamber Music No. 7 organ and orchestra, but at the end of the concert this one of the world’s most notable soloists – instrumentalists solo performed in the iconic Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Tokato and Fugue Reminora”, introduced by significant conference words: “Even on the darkest night the light shines, the darkness has not prevailed. ”
The Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andris Poga, will take the stage in the continuation of the Star Festival tonight on March 5 at 6 pm to perform Andris Dzenitis ‘Second Symphony “Warm Wind” and perform Johannes Brahms’ Violin Concerto with the outstanding Latvian violinist Vineta Sareika. On Sunday, March 6, at 6 pm, there will be an evening of piano music with the performance of the world-famous Russian pianist Alexander Melnikov. Next weekend, the festival will end with a performance by the prestigious British string quartet Albion Quartet on March 10, as well as a concert by the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra with Ukrainian opera star Ludmila Monastirska on March 12.
