Photo shows all-new Motorola razr 3 (2022)

Motorola has been participating in the foldable market for some years now, reusing the popular razr name for this. A photo has now emerged of a yet to be announced Motorola razr phone, possibly the razr 3 or razr 2022. While previous razr phones were still very similar, this one breaks with that tradition.

The photo of the razr 3 comes from Evan Blass through a publication on 91mobiles† Evan has a reputation to uphold; he was also the first to show pictures of the razr 1 in razr 2.

The upcoming razr 3 will be completely different

The photo above has been blurred at points, possibly to disguise the origin/source. But we do see for the most part its collapsed exterior and it is completely different from its predecessors. We see a dual camera in the corner and the design is more angular. All this is very reminiscent of the Flip 3 van Samsung.

razr 3 specs

The front appears to be made of glass with it still unclear how much of it consists of screen. The frame appears to be made of aluminum judging by the antenna edges. The volume knob on the right now consists of 2 separate buttons instead of 1. According to Evan, this future razr will come in two colors: Quartz Black and Tranquil Blue.

Earlier rumors already spoke of a high-end processor for the razr 3 and Blass agrees. The device will receive a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Gen 1 Plus processor with 8 or 12 GB of RAM. The camera sensors are 50 and 13MP, the latter of which also serves as a macro camera in addition to ultra-wide angle. A combination that Motorola uses more often.

razr 3 availability

The folding screen has a Full HD+ resolution with a screen hole at the top for the 32MP selfie camera. So gone is the notch. Blass expects this razr codenamed ‘Maven’ to be released sometime in July or August, but only in China at first. A worldwide rollout will follow later. Prices are expected to be firm.
