This time, the orchestra’s chief conductor Gintars Rinkevičs could enjoy the impressive Ninth Symphony of the Czech giant Antonin Dvorak.
“This symphony, which is one of the most beautiful works in symphonic music, will supplement the knowledge of people who are still learning about symphonic music. They will hear Dvorak’s Ninth Symphony and fall in love with it for life, ”said the Lithuanian maestro before the concert. The response from the audience was again this time as well – several thousand households have watched this concert on their screens here in Latvia, as well as in the USA, Great Britain, Estonia, Lithuania, Germany, Russia, Norway, Denmark and Ireland. The concert was opened by a previously recorded conversation with conductor Gintars Rinkevičs by music reviewer Oresta Silabriežs, while at the end of the concert, choral conductor Ilze Balode and young singer Tabita Balode shared their impressions of the concert with the director of the concert hall Timur Thomson.
The final concert of the cycle “Symphony CLOSER” will be available on April 9, when you will be able to get closer to Peter Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony, which will be performed by the erudite professor, conductor Andris Vecumnieks. On March 25, at 7 pm, the cycle of concert talks of the Liepaja Symphony Orchestra “CLOSER” will resume, this time introducing the audience to the unique personality of harpist Darta Tisenkopfa.
