In the category “Performance of the year in small form” the winner was the production of director Mārtiņš Eihe’s “Calendar mani sauc” at the Valmiera Drama Theater, while in the category “Performance of the year for children or teenagers” the winner was director Paula Pļavniece’s production of Mikhail Chekhov’s “Dakteris Aikasāp” at the Russian Theater in Riga.

In the category “Young Stage Artist of the Year”, however, Ieva Estere Barkāne won the laurels for the role of Zakis in Valmiera’s play “Kam bail no Virginia Woolf?”, as well as Ritvars Logins for the role of Harald in theatrical performance New Riga “New Latvian stories. 3rd evening”.

Kārlis Krūmiņš and artificial intelligence won in the “Drama Innovation of the Year” category for the production “Frankenstein’s Complex”. In the “Visual Image Author of the Year” category, the winners were Fabjēns Ledė for the stage design of the show “Rotkho” at the Daile Theater and Reinis Suhanovs for the stage design and costumes of the show “Grimmi” at the Liepāja Theater.

In the category “Invention of the Year in Music” Kārlis Tone won for his work in the production of “Nēmiz pǟl!” of the theater troupe “Kvadrifrons”. On the other hand, Elīna and Rūdolfs Gediņi won the laurels for Choreographer or Movement Artist of the Year at the “Players’ Night” ceremony for their work in the Daile Theater show “Very good minutes”.

During the ceremony, the Special Jury Prize was also awarded to a dynamic, visually and sonically stimulating musical theater event: the Valmiera Summer Theater Festival performance for the experimental play “Vēsā”. The composer of the performance is Anna ķirse, the creator of the idea is Katrīnas Neiburgas, the direction is by Klāvas Meļļ, the direction of the movement by Kristīnes Brīniņas, while Oskars Pauliņš took care of the lights.

The “Player’s Night” award for lifetime contribution to the art of theater was received by director, performing arts teacher, professor emeritus of the Latvian Academy of Culture Aina Matīsa and director, actor and performing arts pedagogue Edmunds Freibergs .

Elīna Vāne was recognized as actress of the year in the “Gamer’s Night” audience sympathy vote for Marta Valmieras in the stage play “Kam bail no Virginia Woolf?”, Kaspars Zvīgulis was recognized as actor of the year for the role of Jāson in the Latvian National Theater show “Mazā naudiņa”. On the other hand, director Jānis Znotiņš’s production “We, rock, sex and USSR” at the Valmiera Drama Theater was recognized as the show of the year.

The Sympathy Award of the Children’s and Youth Jury went to the production “Spring” by director Prits Pedajas at Teatro Daile, while the Theater Innovation Award “Latvijas Mobila Telefona” went to the creative team of the Teatro Daile show ” Rotkho”.

On the 136th birthday of the performing arts reformer and co-founder of the Daile Theater Eduard Smilģas, with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, the best productions and individual performances of the 2021/2022 theater season were awarded at the Daile Theater.

This year, the “Gamers’ Night” awards were presented for the 29th time. The ceremony was led by actor Mārtiņš Meiers, assisted by ballet soloist Kristaps Jaunžeikars. The awards ceremony was organized by director Laura Groza, screenwriters Groza, Ojārs Rubenis, Mārtiņš Meiers, set designer Mārtiņš Vilkārsis, lighting designer Mārtiņš Feldmanis, music director Juris Vaivods, video artist -“8”, costume designer Ilze Vītoliņa, movement consultant Elza Leimane, video director and editor Matīss Kaža, producer Ilona Matvejeva.

The ceremony was performed by the string quintet “Sponte”, the modern jazz group “Lupa”, the ethno music group “Tautumeitas”, the “a capella” group “Latvian Voices”, the soloists Aija Vītoliņa, Tatiana Trenogina, Inga Šlubovska, Aija Andrejeva, Elsa Rozentāle.
