Photo project “Hometown” and new special page – iTopnews.de – Current Apple news & discounts on iPhone, iPad & Mac

Apple has shared a new series of “shot on iPhone 12 Pro” photos.

You can admire them here. The reason for the publication is Black History Month, which Apple is celebrating from today with promotions and a new Apple Watch. For the photo gallery, 30 black photographers were equipped with iPhone 12 Pros.

A portrait of a country

With these they then creatively explored their hometowns. There are moving results from Washington, DC, Chicago, Manhattan Beach, Detroit and the Bronx in New York, among others.

Those involved were enthusiastic, for example Julien James from Washington, who says:

The iPhone is my favorite camera for taking pictures because it’s in my pocket and I can take it with me wherever I go. I usually shoot with 50 millimeter lenses because that’s the closest thing to the human eye. I want everything I photograph to represent or be as close as possible to what we naturally see. So I was surprised to see how the iPhone 12 Pro shot with its wide-angle lens.

Apple will publish many more photos of the participants along with stories from the US cities via Instagram this month. Here you can follow the account and marvel at the photos.

New special page activated

At the same time, Apple has also activated a new special page. It provides information about actions within the framework of the company’s own “Racial Equity and Justice Initiative”, for which Apple has invested a lot of money – iTopnews.de reported. She starts with a striking quote:

We are continually reminded that certain uncomfortable truths about our society are being ignored, silenced and disregarded. Such comfort must no longer exist at the expense of changes in colored communities.

With various interactive elements, Apple provides information about various campaigns during the Black History Months. This includes special content in Apple News, music tips on Apple Music, and more.
