Director Elmars Senkovs ‘production “Shakespeare” has been nominated in the category “Large Form Exhibition of the Year” alongside such performances as “Elpai” staged at director Dmitrijs Petrenko Daile Theater, director Ināra Sluckas’ LNT stage “Victory is a moment.” The joint work “Grandmother’s Waltz” by director Paula Pļavniece and the theater troupe “Kvadrifrons” has also been nominated for the award in this category.

In the category “Performance of the Small Form of the Year”, the production of director Sīlis LNT “Finlandizācija”, the production “Hunting” created by director Reinis Suhanovs and the theater association “Esarte” in cooperation with the Latvian Academy of Culture (LCA) will compete for the victory. Also winning the laurels are the production of Sīlis “The Boy Who Saw in the Dark” and director Vladislav Nastavšev’s “The Night Begins Here” at the Gertrudes Street Theater.

Director Edgars Niklasons’ production “Pipe Tooth Only”, which he performed at the Rezekne Theater “Joriks”, and the production “Nils Holgerson’s Wonderful Journey”, directed by Mikhail Chekhov at the Russian Theater, will compete for the title “Children’s Show of the Year”. The performance of director Tomas Treiņš’s production “Willa Theater” “The Yard Comes Alive”, which was made during the Valmiera Summer Theater Festival, is also claimed for this title. The performance “Plastic Hooligans” by director Pamela Butāne and the theater association “Perforation” and “Half-Man” staged by director Edgar Kaufeld at the Puppet Theater have also been nominated in the category “Children’s Performance of the Year”.

In the category “Performance of the Year for Teenagers” there is a production of director Jānis Znotins at Valmiera Drama Theater “People need a dog”, director Mārtiņš Eihe’s work at Cēsis Small Theater “Dullais”, production of director Kārlis Krūmiņš Director Krista Burāne’s production “Immoral”, shown at “Dirty Deal Teatro”, will also compete for victory in this category.

Burāne will compete for the laurels in the category “Director of the Year”, Nastavševs for the production “The Night Begins Here” at Gertrudes Street Theater and “Five Songs by Memory” at Mikhail Chekhov’s Riga Russian Theater. Senkov has also been nominated in this category for “Shakespeare” at the Liepaja Theater, “Hunting”, which was created by the theater association “Esarte” in cooperation with the LCA, for “a sapiensi”, which was made during the Valmiera Summer Theater Festival, and “Iran Conference”. Sīlis will also apply for the title of director of the year for such works as “The Boy Who Saw in the Dark” and “Finlandization”, “Looks Like You Will Die”, “Dirty Deal Teatro” and “Victory is a Moment”. Sluck will also compete for the victory for the production of “Empty Flower (Jermas)”.

Maija Doveika, Esmeralda Ermale, Inese Kučinska, Marija Linarte and Ieva Segliņa were nominated in the category of the actress of the year. Andris Keišs, Ģirts Krūmiņš, Kārlis Reijers and Igors Šelegovskis will apply for the title of actor of the year.

Daiga Gaismiņa, Elita Kļaviņa, Jana Ļisova, Nina Neznamova, Regīna Razuma and Guna Zariņa have been nominated in the category “Actress of the Year in the role of the background”. Maksims Busels, Kaspars Dumburs, Āris Matesovičs, Edgars Ozoliņš, Mihails Samodahovs and Aigars Vilims are applying for the title “Actor of the Year in the Background”.

Kārlis Arnolds Avots, Matīss Budovskis, Sandija Dovgāne, Paulīne Kalniņa, Agris Krapivņickis, Emīls Ralfs, Elizabete Skrastiņa and Rihards Zelezņevs will compete for the title of “Young Stage Artist of the Year”.

Ivo Briedis, Rasa Bugavičute-Pēce, Evarts Melnalksnis, Klāvs Mellis and a team of authors consisting of Burāne, Laila Burāne, Kirils Ēcis, Raimonds Ķirķis, Marija Luīze Meļ nominated in the category “Achievement of the Year in Original Drama (text, play or script)” , Kārlis Vērdiņš and Reinis Boters.

Krišjānis Elviks, Miķelis Fišers, Gints Gabrāns, Kristīne Jurjāne, Ieva Kauliņa and Suhanovs will compete for the title of “Set Designer of the Year”. Mārtiņš Feldmanis, Gļebs Filštinskis, Oskars Pauliņš and Lienīte Slišāne have been nominated for the title of “Artist of the Year”. Gints Gabrāns and Toms Zeļģis, Elīna Matvejeva, Inese Tīkmane, Kārlis Zemītis, Elizabete Mežule-Gricmane and Burāne will compete for the title of “Video Artist of the Year”.

Agate Bankava, Kristīne Brīniņa, Arīna Buboviča, Elīna Gediņa and Regnārs Vaivars in cooperation with Inga Rauding have been nominated for the title “Artist of the Year”. Gatis Krievāns, Anna Ķirse, Edgars Mākens, Nastavševs, Jēkabs Nīmanis and Edgars Raginskis will compete for the laurels in the category “Author of the Musical Score of the Year”.

In the category “Event of the Year in the Digital Environment” nominated series of performances on the e-theater stage “White Cube”, online show “24h”, web show “Iran Conference”, mini series “Patakolako”, audition “Roland’s Song” and online show “Vol. 1 Antiņš “.

A representative of the Latvian Theater Workers’ Union pointed out that more than 110 new productions of the season were evaluated and nominated by a five-member jury – theater scientist Līga Ulberte, theater critic Andris Rutkēviča, commentator and translator Eduards Liniņš, theater journalist and producer Jevgenija Šermņija Šerme and theater critic Undine Adamaite.
