The software Photo Organizer Pro promises to bring together all images stored on internal and external hard drives, USB sticks and in the cloud (although only Onedrive and Dropbox are supported) and organize them under a uniform interface.
This also worked without any problems in the test: After specifying the storage locations, the software indexed all the photos located there and in the respective subfolders. In the cloud this took a little longer – due to the transmission path.
Photo Organizer then offers a whole range of options to make the photo collection searchable and to specifically search for specific recordings. For example, every photo can be tagged with keywords.
The Photo Organizer finds all photos tagged with the same keyword in the search and also displays them in a Smart Album. Smart albums can also sort the photos according to other criteria, such as the storage location or the place where they were taken.
Bad: Photo Organizer does not automatically assign tags. That’s why the search function only finds specific image content if it is in previously assigned keywords, folder or album names.
The software cannot analyze the actual image content. At least the Pro version can detect whether faces are in focus in photos and identify duplicates.
Alternative: ACDSee Photo Studio
