Zigfrīds Gora, Deputy Chairman of Madona County Council, pointed out that improvements in road infrastructure, including bridges, allow people to continue living in their native homes, leave the regions and give hope for future development.
In Madona region, the bridge over Kuja on the Madona-Varakļāni highway (P84) 13.94 has also been renovated this construction season. kilometer in Prauliena parish. Close by Gulbenes This year, construction works have taken place on two bridges over the Gauja – on the highway Smiltene-Gulbene (P27) 27.08. km, and there the works have been completed, as well as on the highway Ūdrupe – Ranka station (V438) 7.11. km near Rēvļi, where the works are still going on and will be completed this autumn – there these days asphalt pavement for the driveway and bridge approaches. For both of these bridges, the carriageway was dismantled and rebuilt up to the beams, the waterproofing, safety barriers and railings, as well as shore fortifications were restored. A three-span reinforced concrete bridge on the Smiltene – Gulbene highway was built in 1971, but a three-span reinforced concrete bridge on the highway Ūdrupe – Ranka station even earlier – in 1964.
Both bridges were renovated by SIA “8 CBR” for a total contract price of 1.128 million euros (including VAT), which came from the state budget. This price also includes the works performed this year on the bridge over Cērtene on the Smiltene-Rauna (V234).
