The reconstruction of the magnificent Art Nouveau house from 1913 in the middle of Olomouc is over. A new McDonald’s restaurant opened on Hrdinů Square on Thursday, which is the most beautiful in the Czech Republic due to its location. It is a two-storey restaurant, which will be one of the largest in the Czech Republic. It also boasts a unique design or the first food elevator.
The 103rd McDonlad’s restaurant in the Czech Republic and the 3rd in Olomouc opened its historic doors on Thursday 17 September. The design in the new generation restaurant combines wooden materials together with steel, zinc and steel elements with glass accessories, and all this stands out and thanks to atmospheric lighting. So far, this is the only restaurant in this concept in the Czech Republic. “I was looking for a modern timeless design that makes an extraordinary impression. When I was thinking about the design to choose for this historic house, I was thrilled by the combination of the historic building and the futuristic Ray design I saw for the first time in Hong Kong. ” says Kamila Kleiblová and adds: “This restaurant is also unique in that it will be the first McDonald’s restaurant in the Czech Republic to use a food lift.”
Only fryers with lower energy consumption and oil savings of up to 40% are used in the kitchen. Grills also consume less energy. For cooling and freezing, McDonald’s uses exclusively environmentally friendly refrigerants, which means less burden on the ozone layer. The restaurant is illuminated by LED technology. It is no news that in McDonald’s restaurants, used fryer oil is sent for further processing and energy use.
The restaurant itself is spread over two floors, the ground floor and the 1st floor of the building. In addition to two classic cash registers, there are also 5 self-service order kiosks in the interior. Olomouc residents will also find the McCafé café here, and a children’s play area made mostly of wood, which comes from certified sustainable forests, is prepared for children.
Restaurant in the former Art Nouveau cinema
This is the third restaurant in Olomouc under the golden arches. This time, however, it is a unique space that required maximum sensitivity during the reconstruction. The Art Nouveau house was built in 1913, it used to serve the people of Olomouc as a cinema under the name Edison, later there was a cinema Mír. In recent years, there has been a clothing store.
The new restaurant will be open daily for customers from 7:00 to 22:00. The McDelivery service is also available to the inhabitants of Olomouc for the delivery of food through the delivery company Dáme Jídle.
