At the concert, Latvian musical talents delighted the audience: soprano Katrīna Paula Felsberga, pianist Agnes Egliņa and the young percussionist Reinis Tomiņš.

The musicians played a varied program of Latvian chamber music in a festive atmosphere. The concert included compositions by Vilnius Šmīdberg, Romuald Kalsons, Jēkabs Jančevskis, Pēteras Vaskas, as well as two new works: “Peace begins with an M” by Henri Poikān and “Three poems by Ojārs Vācieš” by Artur Maskat.

Katrīna Paula Felsberg says about the concert program: “Several small dreams have come true in this program, which, it seems, just need to be expressed aloud and they will come true. We met the great pianist Agnes Egliņa a year ago, when we played together in the original concert of “Botānika” by composer Jēkab Jančevskis at Salaspils Botanical Garden, playing two of his songs, which will also be performed in this concert.

In the spring, we had the opportunity to record these songs against the background of the Latvian radio, and when we talked about it, Agnes and I joked that it would be great to make a concert program together for both of us. And already in the fall I received a call from Regīna Deičmanes, head of the Pēteras Vaska Foundation – an offer to create this concert program with vocal contemporary chamber music by Latvian composers. It didn’t take long to think about which pianist to approach and to my delight, Agnese answered. Versatile percussionist Reinis Tomiņš also joined us.”
