Already on February 18 in the exhibition hall in Ķīpsala one of the most important events of the Latvian music industry will take place – the ceremony of the annual music recording award “Zelta Mikrofons’23”. This year, spectators will also be able to witness the ceremony in person.

At the ceremony concert “Zelta Mikrofons’23” will perform: Don, “Instrumenti”, “Citi Zēni”, “Astro’n’out”, “Iron Wolf”, “DAGAMBA”, Aija Andrejeva, Olga Rajecka, ” Tautumeitas” , rolandče , Finkis, Oak and others. The full schedule will be gradually unveiled in January.

At the ceremony, artists will receive “Zelta Mikrofons’23” figurines created by metal artist Armandas Jēkabsons and also NFT or digital crypto-art created by graffiti artist KIWIE for records created in 2022.

The recycled gold of the campaign “Old telephone or golden microphone?” it will also be used to gild awards. for the collection of used cell phones. The campaign is organized by “Zelta Mikrofons” and SIA “Zaļā josta” in collaboration with the Elvi store network.

As previously reported, the award-nominated albums are judged in 11 genre categories, but separate awards are also given to Debut, Song, Video, Concert Recording and Album Design. From the leaders of all album categories, the judging panel votes for Album of the Year. The Association of Artists and Producers of Latvia will award an award in the “Radio hits” category to the most listened song on radio stations, while in the nomination “Streamed record with Elektrum” the most listened song or composition on music streaming sites will be awarded. Listeners can also be involved in the music judging process by participating in the “Elvi song of the year” vote.
