“Music strengthens and unites us. The song has an indescribably wide range of emotions. It allows us to laugh, cry, experience and rejoice. The song is fair. And this concert will be the same – bright, dear, solemn and honest, because our musicians are like that – really from the first note to the last, ”says the concert’s producer Dita Torstere.
The renovated Āgenskalns market pavilion has been chosen as the concert venue, which has acquired a special aura as a result of the reconstruction. It has been closed since January 2018, but is now ready to receive visitors on May 7 in a new form. The festive concert “Loving Latvia” will be a unique opportunity to appreciate the uninhabited space of the renovated pavilion traders.

”4. The May Concert is a gorgeous and significant event that marks a historic moment before the market pavilion reopens its doors to visitors. At the same time, this concert dedicated to the celebration of May 4 is deeply symbolic – every project to restore the historical heritage is an investment in the restoration of Latvia’s independence, a confirmation of the historical commitment and values of our country.
The Āgenskalns market pavilion is definitely a unique space that can color events with the prevailing mood. In the future, various cultural events are planned, in the creation of which we will invite representatives of the neighborhood as well as farmers, entrepreneurs and representatives of various cultural fields to participate, ”says Kārlis Dambergs, Āgenskalns market restorer.
Expect the culmination of the May 4 holiday by watching the solemn and peaceful concert on May 4 at 8:45 pm on TV3, as well as on the next generation television Go3!
