At the end of last week, the Criminal Police officers of the Ludza District of the Latgale Regional Office of the State Police detained a woman who, under the influence of alcohol, damaged several vehicles in the yard of an apartment building.
On August 1, at around 06:00, information was received that several cars had been damaged in one of the courtyards of apartment buildings in Ludza. Arriving at the scene, the law enforcement officers of the Ludza district of the Latgale Region Office of the State Police found that significant damage had been caused to six cars. Several vehicles had broken front or rear windows, but another car had a damaged body.
A possible culprit was also detained at the scene – a woman born in 1998 who was intoxicated. The woman admitted her guilt and regretted what she had done. It should be mentioned that the person had not been in the sight of the police before.
Several criminal proceedings were initiated regarding this fact pursuant to Section 185, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Law for intentional destruction or damage of foreign property, which is punishable by imprisonment for a term of up to two years or by temporary deprivation of liberty, or forced labor, or a fine.
