As Liena Dāvida, the representative of the concert hall, informed the portal, in the first part of the concert show, pianist Vestards Šimkus played the meditative piano works series “Seasons” by composer Pēteras Vaskas, for which a special light show was created by Mārtiņš Feldmanis, who as the best light artist of the year has twice received the “Players’ Night” award of Latvian theaters.
Vasks has been working on the cycle of piano works for almost 30 years – the cycle had its premiere in 2009, when Vestard Šimkus performed it in Liepāja.
In the second part of the concert, the violinist of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Darja Smirnova, took the stage, who together with the Liepāja Chamber Orchestra played the world classic – Antonio Vivaldi’s “Seasons”, which consists of four violin concertos: “Spring”, “Summer”, “Winter” and “Autumn”.
The 3D video performance was prepared by video artists for each of the seasons – Mīnus Astoņi or Andris Vētra took care of the visual depiction of spring, Artis Dzērve for summer, Vickijs or Viktors Keino for winter, while Ineta Sipunova was responsible for autumn.
