The National Authority for Consumer Protection proposed the closure of four Auchan units in Bucharest – Auchan Titan, Vitan, Militari and Berceni stores – for a period of no more than six months, following significant deviations discovered following controls carried out on Monday, reports Agerpres.
According to a communiqué of the National Authority for Consumer Protection, the controls undertaken by teams of the Regional Commissariat for Consumer Protection (CRPC) in the Bucharest-Ilfov Region – coordinated by ANPC vice president Mihai Culeafă, ANPC director general Paul Anghel and CRPC chief commissioner Bucharest-Ilfov, Ionuţ Voevozeanu – in the food areas of the stores from the big hypermarket chains they continued. Thus, on November 1, 2021, checks were made on the manner in which the legislation in force in the field is observed at four working points in the Capital of Auchan Romania (Auchan Titan, Vitan, Militari and Berceni stores).
Following the control, significant violations were registered, which led to fines amounting to 102,000 lei and the provision of important complementary measures, including the permanent cessation of marketing and withdrawal from human consumption of all non-compliant food products identified in the four stores and the proposal to close all four units for a maximum period of 6 months.
