Starting from April 14, the exhibition “Exhibition” of the internationally recognized design bureau “H2E” will be on display in the art space of the concert hall.. The exhibition emphasizes the daily challenges of designers and invites visitors to see not only the beautiful result, but also the long process that lies behind the design. The exhibition will feature sketches, “storms of ideas”, reflections, design variations, environmental objects and video materials from the four directions of the design office – graphics, expositions, premises and navigation. It will give you the opportunity to look behind the scenes of the brightest work of the design office.
“This exhibition shows what happens to a creative person’s head when working on a project, and here you see, the idea rises here, descends here. Here is the process. What people don’t really see. They usually only see the beautiful result, but the process is very long and complicated and requires a lot of energy and strength – that’s what we want to tell you about, ”said Holger Eller, one of the office’s leading designers and co-founders, at the opening of the exhibition. Exhibition of the work processes and values of the design office free of charge in the art space of the concert hall Civita Nova will be available daily until June 8th.
At the Good Friday concert, visitors were delighted by the pearls of boys ‘choral music and special premieres with the Munich Boys’ Choir. conducted by Ralph Ludevig, Frank Oitman as pianist / organist and other special guests. In the first part of the concert, the works of Bach, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Jenkins, Vivaldi, Mozart and other classics of the sacred music repertoire were performed in the voices of crystal clear German boys. At the end of the evening, with the author present on stage, a new work created especially for this event by the world-renowned domestic composer Erik Eschenwald was premiered – two prayers in music. In his address to the audience, the composer revealed that he created this work thinking about his special memories from the years of the boys ‘choir, when the boys’ choirs of the Liepāja district met in music at singing concerts.
The compositions “Sons and Daughters of the King” and “Blessed Those Who Have Not Seen and Still Believe” united the boys’ choirs of Munich and Liepāja Secondary School of Music, Art and Design, joining the soloists of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra – percussionist Marta Kauliņa-Pelnēna trumpet player Mārtiņš Zujam. Marking the cooperation and fellowship of the Munich and Liepāja boys’ choirs, the second part of the new work was conducted by the LMMDV choir leader Ilze Balode. The concert was made in cooperation with the Uniting History Foundation.
On Saturday, April 16, the bright Swedish mezzo-soprano Anna Sofi von Otere (Anne Sofie fon Otter) and the energetic Brooklyn Rider String Quartet With the program “Songs of Love and Death”, he discovered the musically beautiful union of love and melancholy in the songs of two different composers – Rufus Weinright and Franz Schubert. With this concert, the musicians’ association wanted to create an intimate chamber music atmosphere in Schubert’s time, when the audience and the musicians were in the living room and enjoyed the artistic brilliance together and unhindered.
The concert was opened by Weinrait’s cycle of songs “Three English Waltzes” – “Listen to the Queen”, “A Common Friend” and “Watching the Coming of the Monarchs”, which has never been recorded, but given to musicians for this program. This was followed by von Otter’s powerful singing of Schubert’s Death and the Girl, and the extensive parts of the string quartet Brooklyn Rider by violinists Johnny Gandelsman and Colin Jacobsen (Colin Jacobsen), exposed Nikolasa Kordsa (Nicholas Cords) and cellist Michael Nicholas (Michael Nicolas) in an amazing interplay that alternates through three of Schubert’s “Winter Road” songs, “The Road Sign,” “Three Suns,” and “Loneliness.” At the end of the concert, the musicians performed Weinright’s “Three Songs in Lulu”, which, as von Otere revealed in the concert: ” Inspired by the applause and stormy applause of the audience after this emotional performance, the musicians performed another musical addition from Schubert’s work.
