If you are affected too, find out more here.
To the background
The photographer Will Austin (www.willaustin.com) is an American photographer who specializes in architecture.
In the warning issued by the law firm F200 ASG Rechtsanwälte, it is alleged that the person concerned used photographs of the artist online without his consent.
The submission of a pre-formulated, punishable declaration of discontinuance, as well as information and removal of the images is required.
In addition, a license fee of 500 euros per photo is required.
Last but not least, the legal fees of 1,366.80 euros (amount in dispute 33,000 euros) are to be paid.
Our advice
Keep calm and have the warning checked by a lawyer within the deadline.
It should be checked in each individual case whether you were allowed to use the photo without naming the author.
If the accusation is true, you should not, however, sign the declaration of cease and desist without checking, as this declaration amounts to an abstract admission of guilt. It remains to be checked whether only a modified declaration can be made.
The fees claimed can usually be reduced with good legal arguments.
