One of the central objects of this year’s “White Night” is the work “Connections interrupted” created by architect Uldis Lukševics and the office NRJA, which is a transformation of the Latvian pavilion exposition for the Venice Architecture Biennale. The original of the installation was scheduled to be shown in Venice this year, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the architectural exhibition was postponed to next year. The work “Connections interrupted” will also be on view in the Dome Square on the evening of September 6.

The works of the British artist Luke Jerome have become a favorite tradition of “White Night” – this year his latest installation “Mars” can be found above the city canal, while in Arcadia Park, viewers are delighted by the work “Museum of the Moon”. Both installations are precise models of celestial bodies that combine NASA satellite imagery, light and sound. Both of Luke Jerome’s works in Riga will delight the audience until the evening of September 7.

The traditional events of the “White Night” program also took place – a concert of “Sound Forest” experimental music, “Videography – Space Textures” organized by radio NABA and other events.
We remind you that the “White Night” in Riga is part of the international project “European White Nights”, launched by five European capitals – Brussels, Madrid, Paris, Riga and Rome, and currently cities around the world have joined the network. The idea of the “White Night” is to make contemporary art more accessible to the population by involving those interested in various art events one night a year.
