The production building was built to order by the Ventspils Freeport Authority, developing the Ventspils Industrial Park.
The production building in Ventspils, 103 Ganību Street, is already the 11th industrial production building built by the Ventspils Freeport Authority in Ventspils, already investing more than 50 million euros in the industrial development of the city.
Ultraplast EU was established in 2017 for the wholesale of polycarbonate sheets and accessories purchased in Belarus and Russia. With the development and acquisition of a stable circle of customers in Europe, it was decided to organize the production of its sheet plastic in Latvia. The Freeport of Ventspils was chosen as the site of the plant, where the construction of a new plant was planned by order of the Freeport of Ventspils Authority. The conclusion of the lease agreement at the initial stage of the construction plan actually allowed to implement the necessary changes in the project in accordance with the specifics of SIA “Ultraplast EU” and the technological peculiarities of future production, while creating a sufficiently universal building.
Currently, the first stage of the sheet plastic production project has been implemented in the newly built building –
a production line for the production of monolithic sheets from polycarbonate, acrylic, polystyrene and other materials has been installed. The planned production capacity is 4.5 thousand tons of production per year. The sales markets are the Baltic States, Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Romania, the Netherlands. Currently, the company has 32 employees, mainly residents of Ventspils and the surrounding area.
The next production phases will be implemented in the near future: Phase 2: installation of a new line and start of production of polycarbonate profiles. The production capacity of the line is 200 tons per year. Implementation period – until November 2021. Phase 3: Installation of a new line for the production of cellular polycarbonate plates. The planned production capacity of this line is 3 thousand tons per year. Implementation period – until April 2022.
The possibility of building additional storage facilities for storage of raw materials and finished products is also being considered in the near future. As a result of the implementation of all stages of this project, a modern high-tech sheet plastic production with a total capacity of 10 thousand tons of finished products per year will be established, which will provide jobs for 60 employees.
Ultraplast EU has also increased the number of companies that have qualified to use the advantages provided by the Ventspils Freeport Special Economic Zone.
The 4,100-square-meter production building in Ventspils, 103 Ganību Street, was built by SIA “Ostas celtnieks” by order of the Ventspils Freeport Authority. The total design and construction costs of the production building at 103 Ganību Street were 4.9 million euros. The construction of the building was co-financed with 1.2 million euros European Regional Development Fund.
