At the end of last year, on December 29, the magnificent New Year’s concert “Evergreens” of the Operetta Theater took place in the crowded hall of the VEF Palace of Culture.
Soloists Anta Jankovska (soprano/Italy), Jolanta Strikaite (soprano), Oleksandrs Chuvpilo (tenor, soloist of Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theater), soon to be heard again in Latvia, Andrius Apšega (baritone, soloist of Kaunas State Musical Theater) , the dancers Asnāte Rikse and Kārlis Kemler took part in it, as well as the symphony orchestra of the Operetta Theater under the direction of conductor Atvars Lakstigala. The concert was conducted by Agija Ozoliņa-Kozlovska.
The public welcomed the most beautiful operettas, operas, musicals, zarzuelas and tangos, as well as Neapolitan songs interpreted by both guests and local artists, with enthusiasm, applause and repeated standing ovations. The singing of the soloists was enhanced by elegant scenography and video by multimedia artist Ineta Sipunova, musical choreography by Ieva Kemler and a splendid costume drama by costume designer Vita Radzisna.
The Operetta Theater wishes everyone a Happy New Year and will be happy to meet its loyal spectators in 2023, the 10th anniversary year!
