The concert performance featured popular songs by various composers with the words of Arijas Elksnes – Ulža Marhilevičas, Raimonds Paulus, Zigmars Liepiņš, Aivars Hermanis, Harijs Užanas, Jura Hiršas, Pēteras Stutāns, as well as 12 new songs with the words of Arijas Elksnes specially composed for this performance by Laila Ilze Purmalietes.
Singer and composer Laila Ilze Purmaliete, actress Dace Bonāte (who took on the role of a poetess), actor and singer Juris Hiršs, actor Lauris Subatnieks, singer Ieva Sutugova, pianist Anatolijs Livča, guitarist Jānis Kalniņš, drummer Uģis Kruskops, violinist Aleksejs Bahirs participated.
“Aria Elksne’s poetry is so deeply human, beautiful and deep that it does not get old, on the contrary, it is still very relevant today. It gives us the opportunity to strengthen ourselves, organize ourselves and live. And thank you to the poet for her work and the great legacy she has left, which we once again brought into the sun with our concert performance” says Laila Ilze Purmaliete after the concert performance.
The special guest of the concert performance, Uldis Marhilevičs, says that he is especially grateful to Aria Elksna and believes that he must be present at this performance: “Many write music, but we must remember that in the beginning there was a word, and therefore we will honor our great poet Aria Elksna, her the value will only increase with time.”
