PHOTO ⟩ In the “Voice in the Mask” show, the third participant – the Octopus – was exposed

At the end of the show, the Hare and the Octopus appeared before the detectives, and it was decided to expose the Octopus, under whose mask the singer Elsa Rosenthal was hiding.

The octopus concluded its participation in the show by performing the song “Lielā zive” by the group “Eolika”, after which the detectives were convinced that someone who is not connected to the world of music is hiding under the mask. Among the guesses of the detectives were fisherman and nature enthusiast Māris Olte, former politician and businesswoman Linda Mūrniece, choreographer Inga Raudinga, and “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” manager Inta Šoriņa.

Immediately after the performance, detective Baiba Sipeniece-Gavare said that she suspects that the person hiding under the mask of the Octopus does not earn his living by singing, but likes to sing karaoke in his free time. According to her, someone who is engaged in dancing is hiding under the mask, because the stage is not unfamiliar. Jānis Šipkēvics also agreed that the singer was not hiding under the mask, but a person close to him.

The detectives were most confused and led astray by the Octopus clue, which showed crosses and the word “mermaid” expressed in the clues in the first broadcast. After removing the mask, the detectives had a lot of questions about what they heard in the clues. Krivenchy wanted to understand why exactly this choice of song, which, as Jānis Šipkēvics said, is usually chosen to be sung by people who are far from music and do not really know how to sing. “The big fish is childhood, I myself am a big fisherman and it is connected with love,” Elsa Rosenthal revealed after the performance.

Elsa also explained the great mystery surrounding the crosses and graves that appeared in the clues and led the detectives to suspect that someone connected to the funeral industry was hiding under the mask. “We Latvians are real “graveyards”, we like cemeteries, families meet there. My mother has taught me to always take care of the cemeteries that we have all over Latvia, and I am the family person who happily goes to all my ancestors and cleans the graves,” Elza admits.

Elza also outlined to the detectives what songs she intended to sing in future broadcasts. Her repertoire included Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and the Beastie Boys’ “Fight For Your Rights.”
